Predor Dol'kar: The Spiteful One - Rakata by Silfae Predor Dol'kar: The Spiteful One - Rakata by Silfae
Not a roleplaying character this time, so I'm making the background right now.

For those who don't know, Rakata are the Star Wars Protheans, with the difference that they actually did all those things the protheans were belived to have done, but were Reaper's (or Creator Race's) work instead (big space stations, hyperspace travel, indiscriminate annihilation of worlds, geological archives).
Ruling the Galaxy from 35.000 to 25.200 years before A New Hope, Rakata are one of the most vicious and violent species in the Star Wars EU, even more than most of the Sith: they uplifted, experimented on and destroyed entire species, terraformed planets and used star sistems as their little playthings. They got extinct when a genetic mutation in their evolution made them incapable of perceiving the Force anymore; since their technology depended on it, they found themself suddently into a new Stone Age and their Infinite Empire collapsed.

There aren't many images of rakata and their face is difficult to compose, so I had to go recoloring what little concept I found, remaining at a lower level of detail.
The armor is a readaptation of a wallpaper of King Leoric, from Diablo III.

About the pc itself: Dol'kar is a Predor, the dominant cast in the rakatan society; he lived during the last years of the Infinite Empire, desperately trying to prevent his society to fall, fighting the slave races' various uprisings and looking for a way to cure the Force plague. He's aggressive, short-tempered and ruthless, affected by paranoid delusions about a plot inside his own race to spread the disease.

Tricky one. Hm, Yuuzhan Vong are absent in the Force and unaffected to most of its powers, while Rakata society and technology is based upon the use of the Force.
Phisically they have small differences in strength and agility, I think; so it all boils down to the capability of the Rakatan duelist to find powers which affect the Vong (like some version of the Sith Lightning and the Force Net) to get the upper hand. I'm unsure, I'd say it depends on secondary values, they're mostly even in a one-to-one fight.

On the other hand, I'd say the Vong as a species stand little chance against the Rakata: they're vicious and fanatics, but so are the Rakata, they can terraform planets, but so can Rakata, but they are a more primitive society, while Rakata at their peak are highly advanced. Even if a Vong army infected a planet, the Infinite Empire could blow up the entire star system.

I've seen a few Rakata and by far this is the best. I will make it a wallpaper for my PC for a few. I love all charactors in star wars but alot get over done. I try to post some that have less exposure and are intreasting and this fits rght in, very cool. PLANETKURTH :earth:

Yes, the slug-like eyes are a feature that easly goes to the ridicolous, but I think they pulled off in the right way for the Rakata. Together with their mouth it gives them that potentially aggressive and cold expression of some fishes (at least as I see it).

Yes, and that tall forehead suggests dominance. The blood red eyes also add to the aggressive and antagonistic nature of the species.

Yes; I'd suggest red-oranged eyes could easly be the evolutionary result of millennia costantly using Dark Side-imbued technology, as for the yellow/blooded eyes for the Sith species (both recurring alternatively in casual Darksiders).

That makes sense in light of how Sith in Star Wars tend to have yellow eyes, which may be on their way to becoming red with enough Dark Side energy permeating the galaxy.

Yes, it could be an hypothesis; I mean, I don't remember if it is stated somewhere on Wookieepedia, but nothing contradict it: Darksiders like Sidious or Maul tends to show corruption, among other things, by the change of the colour of the eyes, usually to yellow, sometimes to red; the Sith species evolved to naturally have yellow eyes, the Rakata to have orange/red ones. We can assume it is a sign of corruption passed through generations of costant use of Dark Side powers.

I wonder if The Essential Guide to The Force has much to say on this. I suspect not, but there may be something.

I think it is stated something general about the Sith evolution being influenced by their cast division and their alchemy and sorcery, but I don't think there's more than that.

Wasn't it also implied that they lost their force sensitivity because of their dark side practices?

I think it is stated somewhere as an hypothesis, altogether with the Star Forge starting manipulating them, but I don't personally think it could be the cause: the Sith species evolved in 100.000 of interbreeding to enhance their Force Sensitivity with the help of the Alchemy and constantly practicing Sorcery, wich is stated to be the most corruptive branch of the Dark Side Powers. So, if corruption was the cause, the Sith would have lost their connection as well, but that didn't happen.
